NEWS RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
90 Billion Dollars Lost Due to Sick Time and Reduced Productivity
(Ottawa, Ontario) According to the Chronic Pain Association, it is estimated that $90 billion is lost each year due to sick time, reduced productivity and direct medical and other benefits due to chronic pain among employees.
Moreover, about 50 percent of the public’s pain natures from strain and headaches, which resides primarily in the upper back, neck and shoulders. If companies do not act soon and take the health and wellness of their employees into consideration, companies will continue to lose billions to lost productivity thus decreasing shareholder value.
“Workplace health and wellness is not only for large multi-national corporations” says Mr. Francoeur, Managing Partner of Corporate Massage Therapy. “Many smaller enterprises are now seeing the huge benefit of investing less than $2000 into their company’s health and wellness. With a generous return on investment of nearly 3 to 1 and sometimes more, companies can save upwards of $10,000 per year in productivity losses.”
When surveyed, massage therapy patients overwhelmingly agreed on the effectiveness of the treatment and 96 percent said they would “definitely” seek massage therapy to reduce pain again. “It just makes great business sense to be investing in your company’s health and wellness. We encourage all companies, large or small, to investigate into the benefits of workplace health and wellness. Many times we have organized programs that cost less than $500!” says Mr. Francoeur.
